Galleria of Treats Drive Thru

Walden Galleria is holding Galleria of Treats as a drive-thru event this year

Galleria of Treats at the Walden Galleria is a safe, indoor halloween themed trick-or-treating event at Walden Galleria. This event benefits the American Cancer Society and welcomes over 25 local businesses, and 10,000 people at the end of October.

This year, due to COVID-19, Walden Galleria is reimagining the Galleria of Treats. This event is pre-sale only, and will be a drive-thru in the Valet section of the Texas de Brazil parking ramp. For every ticket sold, kids will receive one bag filled with assorted store-bought candy, one full sized candy bar from Niagara by Frey, and information about local businesses who normally participate in our event.

Galleria of Treats is a ticketed event, and there will be no tickets available to purchase day-of. Walk-ups are not allowed. So purchase tickets here!

A Grave Discussion by Explore Buffalo

For “A Grave Discussion”, Explore Buffalo discusses this area’s very first burial grounds – former, abandoned, and the oldest cemeteries that exist today

Join Explore Buffalo for Explore @ Home Live: A Grave Discussion on October 29, 2020, starting at 7:00 p.m.

What’s it about, you ask?

“Death is as inevitable as taxes! For generations, humans have grappled with what to do with our dead. In addition to burying dead on church-owned lands, burial grounds were also formed on state land or land lent by farmers or local merchants. In Buffalo, both public and pauper (potter) burial lands were formed at what appear to be random locations as the city grew. As towns expanded outward, bodies located in (no longer) rural areas were exhumed and reinterred further away from the city proper in beautified cemeteries – a move which characterized the Rural Cemetery Movement that swept the country beginning in the 1830s. Come listen to a casual presentation by Explore Buffalo docent Judy Tucker that focuses on this area’s very first burial grounds – former, abandoned, and the oldest cemeteries that exist today.”

Explore @ Home Live: A Grave Discussion by Explore Buffalo is available for free for all Explorer Pass members at any level. To become an Explorer Pass member, please visit https://www.explorebuffalo.org/explorer-pass. Advance registration is required.
