Breakfast of Champions
Breakfast is by far the most important meal of the day. Without breakfast, I’m just a hangry jerk until lunch! In this week’s blog I’ll highlight some of my favorite spots to fuel up for the day. Whether I need to grab something fast or have time to sit and savor the flavor I always try to make sure I start my day with a solid breakfast.
Bagel Jay’s Bakery & Cafe
Bagel Jay’s is a great go-to breakfast choice for me. Not only do I love bagels, but their Main & Harlem location is conveniently right next door to our office. So it’s safe to say I eat there a lot. My favorite thing to order is an everything bagel with eggs, cheese, and bacon. And if I get a late start to the day it’s nice to know they have lunch options, too.
Break’n Eggs Crêperie
Whether you’re a fan of sweet or savory breakfast Break’n Eggs Crêperie has plenty of delicious options for all taste buds. Obviously, they have delicious crêpes but there are all sorts of other delicious items on their menu too. Like their creative waffle dogs which are sausage on a stick wrapped in a waffle. As a Nutella fanatic, my favorite item on their menu is their Nutella, banana, and whipped cream crêpe. If savory is more your speed try their smoked salmon crêpe with red onions and a lemon dill cream sauce!
If I wake up late and have no time for breakfast, I know I can swing by Jane’s Cafe Express in Lewiston and get the best breakfast sandwich in town. You can get a breakfast sandwich in like two minutes for under $5.00. And it’s incredible! Don’t take my word for it, swing by and see for yourself next time you’re in Lewiston in the morning!
SPoT Coffee
Each SPoT coffee location has such an enchanting aroma that punches you in the nose as soon as you walk in. I love to sit outside at their Hertel location and people-watch. You obviously know that they have delicious coffee, but did you know they have some solid dining options as well? Not only do they have delicious breakfast items but their lunch options, like their gourmet pizzas, are great too! For breakfast at SPoT I like the Spinach and Feta omelette with a small side salad. It really hits the spot.
The Original Pancake House
It’d be kind of silly to talk about breakfast and not mention pancakes! When it comes to pancakes no one makes them quite like The Original Pancake House. Founded over 50 years ago, The Original Pancake House has received worldwide acclaim. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, when a business has been around that long you know they’re doing it right. Of course there’s other things besides pancakes on the menu, but we just love their specialty pancakes! Their peanut butter pancakes are a peanut butter lover’s dream come true!
Conclusion
Life gets hard sometimes but if you eat a good breakfast you’ll be better equipped to deal with whatever life throws your way. Whether you’re grabbing something fast or have time to sit and enjoy it’s important to find a way to fuel your day. Looking for something fun to do after breakfast? Check out our events page!
