Upgrade Your Space

Plants can change the entire atmosphere of a home simply by putting one in your house. You could be living in a borderline abandoned building with steel bars on the windows and a strong draft from a big hole in the roof. Even in these less than stellar living quarters, visitors (however few they may be) will take a moment to admire the beauty and liveliness of your chosen plant baby. That’s the power of the houseplant! It can distract as well as bewilder anyone that enters your humble abode. Ah, I can tell that the reader is starting to get anxious. They’re wondering, with baited breath, thinking to themselves, “where can I get one of these in the Buffalo Niagara area? I have to have one, it’ll liven up the house so much, and the neighbors will gleefully ask questions … oooo I NEED IT!”

Well, I appreciate the enthusiasm but you’re scaring me a bit if I’m being honest. So, before I become truly uncomfortable, let’s dig into all the places you can buy houseplants in Buffalo Niagara!

Good Vibes & Clean(er) Air

It sounds like I’m blowing things out of proportion. Still, a houseplant can be a real eye-catcher provided you get a nice looking healthy one (if your thinking of putting some weeds in a vase and making that your “ beautiful houseplant”, I have to give you points for creativity, but that’s going to be more of an eyesore then an eye-catcher. Just don’t expect any compliments), and put it in a nice spot for maximum effect. Either at the entrance of the home where visitors can bask in its beauty before they even set foot in your home, that’s one option, but that’s more to impress the neighbor more than anything.

Then there’s the option of putting one (or two or however many you’d like if you want to turn your home into an unofficial greenhouse, then, by all means, go right ahead) into a particular room to accentuate the space. Put one in the main hall next to a painting to provide the place with a regal quality. Put one in the kitchen by the window, so you always have something nice to look at while you chef up meals. Plus, the sun in the summertime will make the plant look extra luminous in the light bringing extra good vibes if that’s the way you want to go. You can even put one in the bathroom (remember, there’s no rules). Wherever you put one, it’s bound to improve the feel and look of wherever you put it, because that’s what houseplants do!

Some put a spin on it, but others Put A Plant On It

Put A Plant On It

When I’m looking for something to spruce up the home (this is primarily right after winter where seeing everything die from being cold and covered in snow leaves me longing to see something alive and growing), I go to Put A Plant On It because of their selection and services. Not only do they provide beautiful, healthy houseplants of a wide variety, but they also have several services on hand. Do you want a houseplant consultant to tell you precisely what plants look best in what places in the home? They’ve got you covered! Do you want to use their self-serve potting station to ensure all the soil and stuff is put in correctly? (A potting bench, gardening table, or potting station is a kind of workbench used for small gardening tasks such as transplanting seedlings. A basic potting bench has a work surface at bench height, is comfortable for a standing person, and is storage for potting soil, pots and tools. Look, I know my description wasn’t sufficient, so I relied on Ms. Webster).

Do you need a houseplant sitter while you’re out at Cabo partying it up? They’ve got you covered on that front as well! Truth be told, I don’t ever use a single one of these services, but it’s nice to know they have them available.

When you enter Put A Plant On It, you will immediately be struck by how creative the whole place looks. The store is primarily a plant gift shop, so there’s many plant-themed goodies to catch your eye beyond the houseplants. From porcelain doll head pots (which I admittedly find scary as all hell) to cute plant tags with plant puns and funny musings, there’s bound to be something that’ll put a big plant-related smile on your face.

And let’s not forget about the staff. Always knowledgeable, and always friendly. Every question you may have from pertaining to the smallest shrub to the biggest (insert big beautiful plant reference here) they have you covered. Because you might not be a botanist or maybe you’re lacking a green thumb, but if you go to them and soak up some of their knowledge, you’ll be a competent houseplant owner in no time.

TBD: National Houseplant Day or no National Houseplant Day?

Houseplants are an often-overlooked part of the home (should we start a house plant appreciation day?) People tend not to grasp how much they actually do for the overall feel of the home. But that’s ok (I mean, I think plants have feelings and thus know when they’re not being appreciated, but I’m weird like that) because they’re going to keep being one, and just maybe they will be the only eye-catching source in your home (because they’re little soldiers that don’t need gratitude to do their job, they just do it).

Whether it be something nice outside for all the neighbors to see or something nice to look at in your room to remind you “oh yeah, things do grow and live after the winter months), houseplants provide a quiet but effective service that’s visible to anyone that enters the room in which they’re present. So if you want to add some pizzazz to any room you choose, go on out there and get one. It’ll be worth it!
