Keep your canine companion (and yourself) happy by choosing the right groomer that you can return to again and again
Shiny Happy Pooches
Have you ever noticed how happy folks are when their dog is clean? They’re positively beaming! Smiling from ear to ear, letting their pearly whites shine like the new silky-smooth coat on their dog. When you have a dog, you eventually become simpatico with it. Meaning when it’s freshly clean and happy, you are as well. Not to mention getting your dog cleaned up gives you a nice little respite from your four-legged friend (we all know their great creatures, but sometimes a small break is necessary).
So, if you’re looking for a nice place for your pooch to get spruced up and shiny while you finally do the laundry dog hair-free for once, check out one of the many dog groomers in the Buffalo Niagara region.
DIY Grooming Bloopers
Some may say going to a dog groomer is a waste of time and money. Why spend money on something you can do at home for free? I’m assuming that the people who share this opinion are all professional barbers with special training in animal grooming specifically and some sort of degree in animal psychology, as well, so they know how to handle them no matter the situation. In my eyes, that’s the only thing that makes sense because anyone who’s tried to bathe a dog, let alone simply cut its fur or nails, will know from first-hand experience just how tedious and exhausting the whole ordeal is.
And make no mistake, it’s nothing short of an ordeal that’ll leave you smelling like a wet dog, fur will be all over the place, the dog’s nails end up looking like mismatched werewolf claws, and the dog smells like damp fur 2X. (When people say “do it yourself,” I don’t believe they mean it should be accompanied by a nervous breakdown). That’s exactly where the many dog groomers in Buffalo Niagara come in to play.
Maxin’ and relaxin’ at Smooches for Pooches
Going to the dog groomer cuts all that hassle way down. There’s no prep work, no trying your best to funnel your dog in the desired area like a sheepherder, then begging and pleading with it to stay in one place so you can do what you have to. (Of course, I was describing a stubborn dog; I’m sure yours is nothing like that.) When you’re dealing with the groomers, you drop him or her off, and you go on your merry way. Many of these dog groomers in Buffalo Niagara are dog daycares too, so you can rest assured your pet is probably having a more relaxing time than you are.
A good dog groomer should be like a spa. Granted, there are actual dog spas (of which I can’t comment on the quality of, given that I never sent my dog to one, but I’m sure they’re fine). What I mean by the term “spa” is that it should be an establishment that tries to make your pets time there something special. Think of the pampering and relaxation you experience when you go to a spa. Now imagine that for your dog. Be honest, is your first response that it seems somewhat ridiculous? Because truthfully, although I understand the knee-jerk reaction, it’s not absurd in the slightest. Actually, I’d argue it’s rather integral.
Pampering For All
The plain and simple fact is your pet needs to be cleaned (unless you have some sort of hobo aesthetic going on. If that’s the case, then please continue on) and the groomer is the only tried and true place where that can get done properly. The people working in such establishments are professionals in the field of dog grooming and can make sure all the t’s are crossed and the I’s dotted in the matter. Going to the groomers can be an admittedly pricey affair, but look at it as another expense towards your dog’s good health. You don’t skimp on their food or medical checkups, so why skimp on this?
One aspect about dog grooming people tend to forget is the momentary freedom it allows you. For an hour and a half or however long it takes, your free to do whatever you want! I don’t mean to sound as if having a dog is akin to having a weight on you, and the dog groomers are the only place to become free (if you’re in such a situation, might I suggest skipping the groomers for the time being and going straight to the dog trainer?) But it’s hard to deny the fact that no matter how much you love your four-legged friend roaming the halls of your home, it’s nice to get a break from the shedding hair, the smell of bacon dog food, and random puddles of water found all around your kitchen floor.
If you say you never get tired of that, I’m going to have to assume you’re lying to yourself.

Help Me Help Pooch
When it comes down to it, taking your pet to one of the many dog groomers in Buffalo Niagara is an act of love. You’re saying through this action that you want your dog looking and feeling the best. You want to see that coat shine like it was freshly bathed in the sun. You want to smell your dog full of some fragrance you can’t quite name, but you know it’s good because the person at the reception desk said it had vitamin C. You want their nails to be cut nicely, so they don’t accidentally hurt themselves and damage the furniture along with their toys. You want their fur to be cut so they look more like a well-kept dog and less like a shaggy bear who has come out of the wilderness.
But most importantly, you want your dog to be happy. To show that genuine wide open mouth smile with the tail wagging 100 miles a second. Because when they’re happy (which they always are after going to the groomers, I suspect it’s because they get treats on top of everything else), you’re happy, which makes perfect sense.
After all, you are simpatico.
