The holidays might look a bit different this year, but we sure are thankful to these amazing restaurants in Buffalo Niagara

When discussing the holidays, there’s one word in particular that comes to mind: traditions. Everyone has them. Whether yours include visiting a local tree farm, driving around to see lights, setting up your Christmas village, baking your great-grandma’s special cookies, or something uniquely your own, traditions bring joy, comfort, and meaning to this time of year.

Unfortunately, sometimes we run into obstacles that keep us from upholding our traditions. For some, that moment comes when grown children move away. For others, it can be a sudden job loss, an unexpected relocation, the onset of a chronic illness, or the passing of a loved one. There are so many unpredictable events that threaten to jeopardize our perfect holiday plans.

This year, we have learned a lot about perseverance and flexibility. We have learned how to work and study from home. We have learned how to navigate health and safety concerns. We are no strangers to toilet paper shortages, birthday parades, and virtual doctor’s appointments. It has been a long journey and it is not over yet, but it is safe to say that we are growing. We are learning how to adapt- and in some ways we will have to apply this skill to the holidays as well.

There are a lot of reasons why someone might opt for takeout instead of cooking through the holidays- to save time and energy, satisfy picky eaters, drop off a meal to a friend in need, grab a bite to eat on the way home from shopping, and maybe even start a new tradition. Whatever your reasons for “dining out” during the holidays, we are here to help. Here is your Holiday Dining Guide featuring restaurants that are still open and serving great food.
