Lumagination at Buffalo Botanical Gardens
January 27, 2020

The beauty of Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens can be enjoyed every day throughout the year, but (and it’s a big but) there is one annual event that is really exceptional: Lumagination.

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens are always a sight to behold. Fashioned after the Crystal Palace in London, the historic building first opened in 1900 and has since accumulated an impressive worldwide collection of horticulture. You will find tropical trees, cacti and succulents, bonsai, carnivorous plants, orchids, medicinal plants, and so much more. All of this is available year-round, but during Lumagination, when the sun sets, colorful lights illuminate the entire museum, creating an enchanting oasis for visitors of all ages to enjoy. And lucky for us, Lumagination is happening this week!

The theme for this year is Mysterious Minerals. Guests will observe salt cave simulations, wooden sculptures, balancing stones, geodes, crystals and more; all of which will be highlighted by dazzling light displays. Interactive activities, creative decorations, and plenty of photo opportunities will also contribute to the festive mood.

Ready to plan your visit? Let’s take a look at the lineup of specialty events taking place during Lumagination:
