Downtown Entertainment

Downtown Buffalo is known for its rich history, impressive architecture, lively art scene, and epic culinary selections. Whether you’re planning for a romantic getaway near Niagara Falls or you live in the area and want to change up your weekend routine, you’ll find that our great city has a lot to offer. Here is a list of some of our favorite downtown entertainment options:

The Chocolate Bar

The Chocolate Bar is a local favorite that stands out for its whimsical yet romantic atmosphere. Wherever you look, you’ll find a TV playing “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” or the famous chocolate factory scene from “I Love Lucy.” The menu features American classics like Southern Sirloin Steak with Jack Daniels Marinade, Asparagus, and Sweet Potato Fries with Maple Dipping Sauce. The drinks are flavorful and strong, and the dessert list is extensive. If you’re feeling particularly daring, you might want to try their pasta tossed in chocolate cream, fresh basil, white pepper and white wine. Yum!

Indulge in a sweet drink at The Chocolate Bar.

Have some winter fun at Canalside!

Canalside

Within the inner harbor of the Erie Canal, you’ll find Canalside, a fun neighborhood that hosts big events like concerts, family festivals, and ice skating. Get your picture taken with Shark Girl, a funny sculpture that locals have wholeheartedly embraced. Visit the Naval & Military Park to take tours of the USS Little Rock, the USS Croaker, and the USS The Sullivans. A full list of events at Canalside can be found here.

CEPA Gallery

A visit to Buffalo wouldn’t be complete without getting your feet wet in the art scene. The CEPA Gallery is located in the historic Market Arcade Complex and contains four galleries of exhibits and events, education programs, a darkroom, and a photo lab. If you are looking to decorate your living space, check out their collection of 500 prints that are available for sale. CEPA Gallery is located on Main Street in downtown Buffalo.

Take the Buffalo chill out of your fingers with a piping hot bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup with Matzo Ball and an Al “Pachino” Sandwich- turkey, salami and corned beef on rye. Finish up with a wholesome piece of cheesecake or a brownie. Risa’s delicious foods are available for pickup, delivery and catering.

Sidelines Sports Bar

When the Bills or Sabres game is on, head over to Sidelines Sports Bar for some spicy chicken wings and ice cold beer. This restaurant has other great food as well, including Chicken Souvlaki Salad, New York Strip Steak, BBQ Pulled Pork, and Fish Fry. If you are looking for a place to host an event, Sidelines caters and has a private event room for up to 40 of your closest friends.
