Since 2009, WNY Local Restaurant Week has given diners the chance to experience the very best of WNY’s culinary scene. Thanks to unique menu items at affordable prices this biannual event is a great excuse to support local independent restaurants while also trying some thing new. Below are five things I can’t wait to order this Restaurant Week from April 16-April 22 so get ready for some fun.
Surf and Turf
The surf and turf from Fortuna’s offers a 10 oz steak with a 4 oz lobster. Restaurant week is the perfect excuse to go a little overboard and order something a bit more decadent. So why not indulge and have the best of land and sea? View Fortuna’s entire LRW menu here http://www.localrestaurantweek.com/images/fortuna2245.pdf while its this great of a deal.
Cuban Pork Sandwich
With seasoned pulled pork shoulder this sandwich from Gypsy Parlor is one worth trying. In addition to that delicious sandwich you also get yellow rice and beans and candied plantains. View Gypsy Parlor’s entire LRW menu here http://www.localrestaurantweek.com/images/adams%20rib%20revised5124.pdf.
Rigatoni ala Vodka with Sausage
Vodka sauce with rigatoni is by far my favorite Italian dish. This take on the classic dish from Share Kitchen and Bar Room includes delicious Italian sausage so you will too. Pair your pasta with apps and salads galore to complete your dining experience. View Share Kitchen and Bar Room’s entire LRW menu here http://www.localrestaurantweek.com/images/share3025.pdf.
Bourbon Beef Tenderloin Stroganoff
This classic dish with a modern twist is something I’m really looking forward to from Adam’s Rib. Slow-braised pork in bulleit bourbon served in classic stroganoff sauce over egg noodles certainly sounds amazing. Why just drink your bourbon when you can eat it too? Blossom Quinoa
While a lot of the meals featured during restaurant week are rich and heavy this dish from Local Kitchen + Beer Bar is light and healthy. With red and white quinoa accompanied by green bean succotash and citrus zest this is a dish you can feel good about. As well as being a lighter option this dish is also vegan, gluten free, and heart healthy.
