The summer is peaking but events in the Buffalo Niagara region are still coming in hot! Welcome has its favorite summertime events still going on, but the month of August brings more entertainment to the region.
Festivals and Fairs
Following the Niagara County Fair is the Erie County Fair and it has been going on for over 150 years! Averaging over 900,000 visitors, the boasts itself as the largest independent county fair in all of North America. With over $500,000 in free entertainment, the fair features top name concerts, motor events, over 2,500 animals, food, activities and even a kid’s camp where WNY’s youth has the opportunity to learn while working and staying overnight on the campgrounds.
In addition to the monthly summertime events happening in the area, there is a whole new wave of festivals coming in with the new month. The two day Lewiston Art Festival beginning the 9th is a great way to appreciate the art works of over 175 painters, sculptors, jewelers, glass blowers, wood workers, mixed media artists, photographers, and more. Meet the artists personally and enjoy more than 20,000 original pieces.

Wing Fest
National Buffalo Wing Festival is happening at Coca Cola Field and is a national favorite and a local pride is. Over 100 different flavors of wings from restaurants around the country are featured over this two-day festival. Be a spectator at events like the Buffalo Wing eating contests and the Miss Buffalo Wing Pageant.
Ethnic Festivals
July held the Italian Heritage Fest and August is the month of the Western New York German-American Heritage Festival. What better way to kick off Oktoberfest season than with one of the largest weekend cultural events in Buffalo Niagara? Located in Cheektowaga, come enjoy traditional food, drink and music the festival has to offer.
